According to 2022 American Community Survey data, over 2.1 million Central Texans live within five miles of a proposed Lone Star Rail station. That's nearly half of the region's population.
Currently, roughly 206,766 residents live within one mile of all stations, 1,250,756 residents live within three miles, and 2,159,562 residents live within five miles.
The Lone Star Rail would connect the cities of San Antonio, New Braunfels, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, Austin, and Round Rock with fast, frequent, and reliable rail service, bringing with it a plethora of social, economic, and environmental benefits.
